Kalle Mattson – Anchors

I’m pretty excited for this.  Not gonna lie.

One of my favourite Sault bands is preparing to release its sophomore full-length release on March 22, 2011.  Kalle Mattson prides itself on continuously searching, stretching and progressing, something that’s been rousing to witness over the last few years.  If the single Thick as Thieves from the upcoming Anchors LP is any indication, these four young lads had best prepare for some much-deserved industry attention and accolades.  It’s good.  Really good.  It allows me to forgive front man Kalle Wainio for not liking David Bowie – that’s how good Thick as Thieves is.

In celebration of the album’s completion, Kalle Mattson is generously giving away Thick as Thieves for a teeny tiny “price”.  Simply click here, tweet and/or Facebook the link as “payment”, receive your download, and enjoy its awesomeness repeatedly.  A pretty ingenious marketing maneuver, really.  Check out the big brain on Kalle…

I also recommend seeing the boys perform live.  You can do so here:

Saturday December 18th – Ottawa, ON – Ritual w/ The Rural Alberta Advantage

Monday December 27th – Sault Ste. Marie, ON – Bottom’s Up (Kalle Solo with friends)

Tuesday December 28th – Sault Ste. Marie, ON – Loplops (3rd Annual Kalle Mattson Festivus Show)

Wednesday December 29th – Sault Ste. Marie, ON – Loplops (12 Musicians of Christmas – Kalle Solo)

Thursday December 30th – Sault Ste. Marie, ON – Coch’s Corner

Wednesday March 9th – Sunday March 13th – Toronto, ON – CMW

Do it.  Go see ’em.  Your soul will thank you, you’ll thank me, and your life will be better for having done so.

But really… C’MON!!  Who doesn’t like David Bowie?!  Sheesh.  Anyway…
