FINALLY! A Tribe Called Red in the Sault!
I’ve gushed on numerous occasions on social media over A Tribe Called Red. Because I love A Tribe Called Red. I love what they do and what they represent. I love everything about it. That’s no secret and I had every digit crossed during last year’s Polaris Music Prize presentation ceremony that these three fine young men would take home the big prize and big money. They didn’t (*sad face*) BUT the buzz they created went beyond the prize. The video above is from the aforementioned Polaris Music Prize gala event in Toronto.
Now, thanks to the fine folks at the Sault Community Career Centre, A Tribe Called Red will perform in Sault Ste. Marie this coming May as part of the three-day Passport to Unity Multicultural Festival. I’m beyond excited for this and will wrestle any of my co-workers who attempt to pilfer this assignment away from me. Fair warning.
The lads will be on hand for an artist talk meet and greet thingy at 2 p.m. Then, it’s dance ’til you drop time as they perform live at 8 p.m. Both events take place on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Sault College in the brand spankin’ new Health and Wellness facility. Saturday, May 3, 2014 will likely be the best day of the year for many here, I’d wager.
