This man’s chest lies
One of my favourite local events to shoot is the annual Bon Soo Winter Carnival Polar Bear Swim. It’s entertaining and funny and the facial expressions captured are often priceless. See image above…
The young gentleman pictured was part of a group of Japanese students who bravely (or stupidly, depending on how you look at it) jumped into the icy St. Marys River for the event. In Northern Ontario. In February. On his chest is written: “Japanese do not feel cold.” Based on his facial expression, I’d wager his pants are on fire. However, he and his cohorts took pause to pose for photographers with a frozen flag of Japan before heading to warm themselves in the hot tub. Good on ya, fellas.
